Journal ArticleDOI

Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of tetradentate unsymmetrical Schiff base ligands: First evidence of positional isomerism in such system

TL;DR: In this article, the 1:1 condensation of 2,4-pentanedione and 1,2-diaminopropane gives a mixture two positional isomers of tridentate mono-condensed product 7amino-4-methyl-5-aza-3-octene-2-one (HAMAO) and 7-amino 4,6-dimethyl-5,aza- 3-heptene-1-hexadecane (HADAH) that reacted readily with Ni(II) thiocyanate
Journal ArticleDOI

Methylene Spacer-Regulated Structural Variation in Cobalt(II/III) Complexes with Bridging Acetate and Salen- or Salpn-Type Schiff-Base Ligands

TL;DR: Two linear, trinuclear mixed-valence complexes, Co-II{(mu-L-1)(mu-OAc)Co-III (OAc)}(2)] and Co-III{L-3)(OAc)] were prepared and the molecular structures of 1, 2 and 4 elucidated on the basis of X-ray crystallography.
Journal ArticleDOI

First oxidative synthetic route of a novel, linear mixed valence Co(III)Co(II)Co(III) complex with bridging acetate and salen

TL;DR: A linear trinuclear mixed valence complex (CoII{(μ-L)(μ-OAc)CoIII(NCS)}2] has been prepared and its molecular structure has been elucidated on the basis of X-ray crystallography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Control of molecular architecture by steric factors: mononuclear vs polynuclear manganese(III) compounds with tetradentate N2O2 donor Schiff bases.

TL;DR: Three manganese(III) compounds are prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies, showing that the presence of two methoxy groups increases the steric crowding in the H(2)vanoph moiety and thereby inhibits the formation of a polynuclear compound with this ligand.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of a novel 2D cadmium(II)-MOF in the formation of a photo-switch with a substantial on–off ratio

TL;DR: For the first time, the single crystal X-ray crystallography of a MOF has been reported along with its applicability in photosensitive devices.
