Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of the dehydrin gene family from grapevine species and analysis of their responsiveness to various forms of abiotic and biotic stress

TL;DR: The grapevine DHN family comprises four divergent members and it seems that DHN1 provides the main stress-responsive function, suggesting a close relationship between expression patterns, physicochemical properties, and cis-regulatory elements in the promoter regions of the DHN genes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The metacaspase gene family of Vitis vinifera L.: characterization and differential expression during ovule abortion in stenospermocarpic seedless grapes.

TL;DR: New insights into PCD are provided by identifying the grape metacaspase gene family and provide a useful reference for further functional analysis of meetacaspases in grape.
Journal ArticleDOI

VpRFP1, a novel C4C4-type RING finger protein gene from Chinese wild Vitis pseudoreticulata, functions as a transcriptional activator in defence response of grapevine

TL;DR: Overexpression of VpRFP1 in Arabidopsis plants was found to enhance resistance toArabidopsis powdery mildew Golovinomyces cichoracearum, which seemed to be correlated with increased transcript levels of AtPR1 and AtPR2 in the pathogen- infected tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene Cloning, Expression and Enzyme Activity of Vitis vinifera Vacuolar Processing Enzymes (VvVPEs).

TL;DR: The results of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) suggested that VvβVPE in seeded grapes increased significantly at 30 days after full-bloom (DAF), close to the timing of endosperm abortion at 32 DAF.

Grapevine powdery mildew resistance transcription factor gene VpRFP1 promoter sequence and application thereof

TL;DR: In this paper, a full-length 1249bp promoter sequence of a Chinese wild vitis pseudoreticulata powdery mildew transcription factor gene VpRFP1 was cloned by adopting chromosomal walking in combination with a nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology, wherein the sequence comprises 103 TATA-boxes and 27 CAAT-boxes, has 8 elements related to plant defense reaction, 14 photoreaction elements, 5 plant hormone response elements, and 14 other unknown elements.
