Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment of single and mixed pesticide formulations by solar photoelectro-Fenton using a flow plant
Fábio Gozzi,Fábio Gozzi,Ignasi Sirés,Abdoulaye Thiam,Sílvio C. de Oliveira,Amilcar Machulek Junior,Enric Brillas +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the solutions of single real formulations of herbicides tebuthiuron and ametryn have been degraded by anodic oxidation with electrogenerated H2O2, electro-Fenton (EF), and solar photoelectro-fenton (SPEF), in a flow plant of 2.5 L equipped with a boron-doped diamond (BDD)/air-diffusion cell and a solar planar photoreactor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electroanalytical Determination of Lidocaine in Pharmaceutical Preparations Using Boron‐Doped Diamond Electrodes
R.T.S. Oliveira,Giancarlo R. Salazar-Banda,Valdir Souza Ferreira,Sílvio C. de Oliveira,Luís Alberto Avaca +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new electroanalytical procedure was developed for the determination of lidocaine in commercial local anesthetics products containing lidocaine as the active ingredient, based on the use of electrochemical methods as cyclic and square wave voltammetry, with boron-doped diamond electrodes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of chlorimuron-ethyl degradation by Fenton, photo-Fenton and ozonation processes
Fábio Gozzi,Amilcar Machulek,Valdir Souza Ferreira,Marly Eiko Osugi,Ana Paula Santos,Jéssica Alves Nogueira,Renato F. Dantas,Santiago Esplugas,Sílvio C. de Oliveira +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the degradation of chlorimuron-ethyl, which belongs to the class of sulfonylurea herbicide, was performed by Fenton, photo-Fenton and ozonation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Degradation of the insecticide propoxur by electrochemical advanced oxidation processes using a boron-doped diamond/air-diffusion cell.
Diego R.V. Guelfi,Fábio Gozzi,Ignasi Sirés,Enric Brillas,Amilcar Machulek,Sílvio C. de Oliveira +5 more
TL;DR: The PEF process was the most powerful since it led to total mineralization by the combined oxidative action of hydroxyl radicals and UVA irradiation, and the EO-H2O2 process had the lowest oxidation ability due to the slow reaction of intermediates with •OH produced from water discharge at the BDD anode.
Book ChapterDOI
Application of Different Advanced Oxidation Processes for the Degradation of Organic Pollutants
Amilcar Machulek,Sílvio C. de Oliveira,Marly Eiko Osugi,Valdir Souza Ferreira,Frank H. Quina,Renato F. Dantas,Samuel L. Oliveira,Gleison A. Casagrande,Fauze Jacó Anaissi,Volnir O. Silva,Rodrigo Pereira Cavalcante,Fábio Gozzi,Dayana Doffinger Ramos,Ana Paula Pereira da Rosa,Ana Paula Santos,Douclasse C. de Castro,Jéssica Alves Nogueira +16 more
TL;DR: A safe water supply and appropriate sanitation are the most essential components for a healthy and prosperous life as mentioned in this paper, however, increases in human activities have led to exposure of the aqueous environment to chemical, microbial and biological pollutants as well as to micropollutants.
