Near-infrared absorbing glazing for energy-efficient windows: A critical review and performance assessments from the building requirements

TL;DR: In this article , a review of the NIR absorbing windows with the limited subset of ion-based and nanoparticle-based glazings is presented, and the performance of each kind of glazing in terms of the light and heat decoupling ability and visual qualities (i.e., color rendering).
Book ChapterDOI

Preface to Second Edition

TL;DR: The first edition of this book was issued by 2005, with the objective of providing basic tools for beginning graduate students interested in numerical relativity research as discussed by the authors, and the size of the numerical relativity community has experienced a significant increase since then, due to the scientific breakthroughs in binary black hole simulations which started precisely by autumn 2005 with the famous Pretorius work.

Evaluation of a parabolic trough collector performance

TL;DR: In this article, the Archimedes solar energy collector at the National Solar Energy Laboratory (NSEL) is presented and a performance evaluation of the collector is performed using a computer-operated tracking system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy yield estimation of on-vehicle photovoltaic systems in urban environments

TL;DR: In this article , four commonly used commercial MPPT algorithms are experimentally evaluated, regarding their ability to extract the maximum available power simulating realistic city routes, highlighting the impact of poor MPPT performance in terms of power generation in moving vehicles.

Life cycle analysis of thermosyphon solar water heaters

TL;DR: In this article, a life cycle analysis of thermosyphon solar water heating systems is presented, including performance, economics and environmental benefits offered by the system investigated which is of the domestic size, suitable to satisfy most of the hot water needs of a four-person family.
