Journal ArticleDOI
The European Association for Endoscopic Surgery clinical practice guideline on the pneumoperitoneum for laparoscopic surgery
Jens Neudecker,Jens Neudecker,Stefan Sauerland,Edmund Neugebauer,Roberto Bergamaschi,H. J. Bonjer,Alfred Cuschieri,K-H. Fuchs,Ch. Jacobi,Frank Willem Jansen,A-M. Koivusalo,A. Lacy,M. J. McMahon,B. Millat,Wolfgang Schwenk +14 more
TL;DR: It is recommended to use the lowest intraabdominal pressure allowing adequate exposure of the operative field, rather than using a routine pressure, and abdominal wall lifting combined with low-pressure pneumoperitoneum might be an alternative.
Journal ArticleDOI
Guidelines for laparoscopic (TAPP) and endoscopic (TEP) treatment of inguinal Hernia [International Endohernia Society (IEHS)]
Reinhard Bittner,Maurice E. Arregui,Thue Bisgaard,M. Dudai,George S. Ferzli,Robert J. Fitzgibbons,René H. Fortelny,Uwe Klinge,Ferdinand Köckerling,E. Kuhry,J. Kukleta,Davide Lomanto,Mahesh C. Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnosis and treatment of diverticular disease
TL;DR: Laroscopic surgery has already begun to influence the management of diverticular disease, but the randomized controlled trials needed to support therapy decisions are largely missing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of endoscopic procedures vs Lichtenstein and other open mesh techniques for inguinal hernia repair: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
TL;DR: Endoscopic repairs do have advantages interms of local complications and pain-associated parameters, and further well-structured trials with improved standardization of hernia type, operative technique, and surgeons’ experience are necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obesity surgery: evidence-based guidelines of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
Stefan Sauerland,Luigi Angrisani,M. Belachew,Jean Marc Chevallier,Franco Favretti,Nick Finer,Abe Fingerhut,M. Garcia Caballero,J. A. Guisado Macias,R. Mittermair,Mario Morino,Simon Msika,F. Rubino,R. Tacchino,Rudolf A. Weiner,Edmund Neugebauer +15 more
TL;DR: These guidelines intend to define the comparative effectivness and surrounding circumstances of the various types of obesity surgery, which are all effective in the treatment of morbid obesity, but differ in degree of weight loss and range of complications.
