Eloise A. Marais,Daniel J. Jacob,Thomas P. Kurosu,Thomas P. Kurosu,Kelly Chance,Jennifer G. Murphy,Claire E. Reeves,Graham P. Mills,Stefano Casadio,Dylan B. Millet,M. P. Barkley,Fabien Paulot,Jingqiu Mao +12 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that isoprene emission from the central African rainforest is much lower than estimated by the state-of-the-science MEGAN inventory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gas flaring monitoring from space using the ATSR instrument series
TL;DR: In this paper, a new active flame detection scheme from satellite night-time Short Wavelength Infra Red measurements (SWIR, 1.6μm) has been developed and tested using the Along Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR) family measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global night-time fire season timing and fire count trends using the ATSR instrument series
TL;DR: The ATSR-WFA products show very good correlation with the TRMM-VIRS and MODIS-Aqua/Terra monthly night-time fire counts, and statistically significant positive and negative trends are only found when data are aggregated at smaller scales.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of neural algorithms for a real-time estimation of ozone profiles from GOME measurements
TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time procedure for the estimation of vertical profiles of ozone concentration from spectral radiances measured by GOME, the first instrument of the European Space Agency capable of monitoring global distribution of ozone and other trace gases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neural networks for the dimensionality reduction of GOME measurement vector in the estimation of ozone profiles
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of dimensionality reduction in the retrieval of ozone concentration profiles from the radiance measurements provided by the instrument Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) on board of ESA satellite ERS-2 is considered.
