Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of prey overlap between a native (Polistes humilis) and an introduced (Vespula germanica) social wasp using morphology and phylogenetic analyses of 16S rDNA

TL;DR: The aim of this study was to identify the protein foods that these wasps feed on and indicates that while P. humilis is restricted to feeding on lepidopteran larvae, V. germanica collects a variety of prey of invertebrate and vertebrate origin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiple biogeographical barriers identified across the monsoon tropics of northern Australia: phylogeographic analysis of the brachyotis group of rock‐wallabies

TL;DR: The results indicate multiple barriers between the Top End (Northern Territory) and Kimberley (Western Australia), which have caused divergence throughout the Plio‐Pleistocene, and delineate the time‐scale of diversification within the region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fundamental research questions in subterranean biology

TL;DR: A roadmap to guide future research endeavours in subterranean biology is developed by adapting a well‐established methodology of ‘horizon scanning’ to identify the highest priority research questions across six subject areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biogeographic barriers in north-western Australia: an overview and standardisation of nomenclature

TL;DR: An historical overview of the biogeographic nomenclature used for this region is provided in order to bring greater clarity and concordance and a standard nonymclature is proposed that could beused in future biogeographical/phylogeographic studies of north-western Australia.
