Protective effect of ferulic acid and resveratrol against alloxan-induced diabetes in mice.

TL;DR: It is shown that ferulic acid and resveratrol exerted antioxidant as well as anti-diabetic effects, consequently alleviate liver, kidney and pancreas damage caused by alloxan-induced diabetes, probably through inhibition of the proinflammatory factor, NF-κB.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro antioxidant and antibacterial activity of sulfated polysaccharides isolated from Spatoglossum asperum.

TL;DR: Experimental results proved that the extracted fucoidan from S. asperum possesses admirable antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

A green route to synthesis silver nanoparticles using Sargassum polycystum and its antioxidant and cytotoxic effects: An in vitro analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, a biocompatible silver nanoparticles synthesized from Sargassum polycystum for antioxidant and anticancer activity was found to exhibit high level of DPPH radical scavenging (78.2% of inhibition), reducing power (0.18±0.006), and total antioxidant activities (59.2±054%) when compared to crude extract.
