Meta-analysis of Studies of Alcohol and Breast Cancer with Consideration of the Methodological Issues
Jane Key,Susan Hodgson,Rumana Z Omar,Tina Kold Jensen,Simon G. Thompson,Alan R. Boobis,Donald S. Davies,Paul Elliott +7 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that the association between alcohol and breast cancer may be causal, and findings were robust to study design and analytic approaches in the meta-analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methodologic issues and approaches to spatial epidemiology.
TL;DR: Spatial epidemiology is increasingly being used to assess health risks associated with environmental hazards, although the availability of complete and clean health data, and appropriate exposure data often remain limiting factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early kidney damage in a population exposed to cadmium and other heavy metals.
TL;DR: The dose–response relationship between U-Cd levels and prevalence of U-NAG above the reference value support the need for measures to reduce environmental Cd exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term Exposure to Road Traffic Noise, Ambient Air Pollution, and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in the HUNT and Lifelines Cohorts
Yutong Cai,Anna Hansell,Anna Hansell,Marta Blangiardo,Paul Burton,BioSHaRE,BioSHaRE,BioSHaRE,Kees de Hoogh,Kees de Hoogh,Kees de Hoogh,Dany Doiron,Dany Doiron,Dany Doiron,Isabel Fortier,John S. Gulliver,Kristian Hveem,Stéphane Mbatchou,David Morley,Ronald P. Stolk,Wilma L. Zijlema,Paul Elliott,Susan Hodgson +22 more
TL;DR: Long-term exposures to road traffic noise and ambient air pollution were associated with blood biochemistry, providing a possible link between road traffic Noise/air pollution and cardio-metabolic disease risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Road traffic noise, air pollution and incident cardiovascular disease: A joint analysis of the HUNT, EPIC-Oxford and UK Biobank cohorts
Yutong Cai,Yutong Cai,Susan Hodgson,Marta Blangiardo,John S. Gulliver,David Morley,Daniela Fecht,Danielle Vienneau,Kees de Hoogh,Timothy J. Key,Kristian Hveem,Paul Elliott,Anna Hansell +12 more
TL;DR: Evidence is found of a possible association between road traffic noise and incident IHD, consistent with current literature and long-term particulate air pollution exposure, even at concentrations below current European air quality standards, was significantly associated with incident CVD.
