Journal ArticleDOI
Association Between Sleep-Disordered Breathing and Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.
Francesca Facco,Corette B. Parker,Uma M. Reddy,Robert M. Silver,Matthew A. Koch,Judette Louis,Robert C. Basner,Judith H. Chung,Chia-Ling Nhan-Chang,Grace W. Pien,Susan Redline,William A. Grobman,Deborah A. Wing,Hyagriv N. Simhan,David M. Haas,Brian M. Mercer,Samuel Parry,Daniel Mobley,Shannon Hunter,George R. Saade,Frank P. Schubert,Phyllis C. Zee +21 more
TL;DR: There is an independent association between sleep-disordered breathing and preeclampsia, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and GDM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of sleep-related breathing disturbances in epidemiologic studies. Assessment of the validity and reproducibility of a portable monitoring device.
Susan Redline,Susan Redline,Susan Redline,Tor D. Tosteson,Tor D. Tosteson,Tor D. Tosteson,Mary Ann Boucher,Mary Ann Boucher,Mary Ann Boucher,Richard P. Millman,Richard P. Millman,Richard P. Millman +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that measurement of the RDI with in-home monitoring provides a valid and highly reproducible index for assessment of sleep-related respiratory disturbances for use in epidemiologic studies of general populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of varying approaches for identifying respiratory disturbances on sleep apnea assessment.
Susan Redline,Vishesh K. Kapur,Mark H. Sanders,Stuart F. Quan,Daniel J. Gottlieb,David M. Rapoport,William H. Bonekat,Philip L. Smith,James P. Kiley,Conrad Iber +9 more
TL;DR: The impact of varying the use of corroborative data (presence and degree of desaturation and/or arousal) to identify hypopneas and apneas is assessed to suggest that different approaches for measuring the RDI may contribute to substantial variability in identification and classification of the disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuropsychological Function in Mild Sleep-Disordered Breathing
Susan Redline,Milton E. Strauss,Nancy Adams,Mary Winters,Theresa Roebuck,Kathleen Spry,Carl Rosenberg,Kenneth M. Adams +7 more
TL;DR: Subjects with mild SDB may manifest a vigilance deficit in the absence of substantial sleepiness, and subjects with a mildly elevated RDI do not appear to suffer appreciable deficits in more complex neuropsychological processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Associations of executive function with sleepiness and sleep duration in adolescents
Basil Anderson,Amy Storfer-Isser,H. Gerry Taylor,Carol L. Rosen,Carol L. Rosen,Susan Redline +5 more
TL;DR: The association between sleepiness and executive functioning is strongest among adolescents with primary caregivers who have lower levels of education, suggesting an increased susceptibility.
