A redox-active columnar metallomesogen and its cyclic voltammetric responses
Ho-Chol Chang,Ho-Chol Chang,Tomoki Shiozaki,Akiko Kamata,Keisuke Kishida,Takeshi Ohmori,Daisuke Kiriya,Takae Yamauchi,Hirotaka Furukawa,Susumu Kitagawa +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first demonstration of cyclic voltammetric responses of a metallomesogen in the columnar liquid crystalline phase is presented, which appears particularly well suited for the design of redox-active liquid crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stepwise guest adsorption with large hysteresis in a coordination polymer {[Cu(bhnq)(THF)2](THF)}n constructed from a flexible hingelike ligand.
Koichi Yamada,Hirokazu Tanaka,Sadahiro Yagishita,Keiichi Adachi,Takashi Uemura,Susumu Kitagawa,Satoshi Kawata +6 more
TL;DR: The dynamic coil-like behavior of 1 can be controlled through the change of the hydrogen-bonding interactions caused by the reversible and selective incorporation of guest molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of Accumulation and Incorporation of Organometallic Pd Complexes into the Protein Nanocage of apo-Ferritin
TL;DR: Analysis of X-ray crystal structures of apo-Fr and its Cys- and His-deletion mutants containing Pd(allyl) complexes indicate that Cys126 accelerates the incorporation of Pd-allyl complexes into the cage, and Cys48 andCys126 are essential for accumulation and stabilizing the square planar coordination structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Construction of robust bio-nanotubes using the controlled self-assembly of component proteins of bacteriophage T4
Norihiko Yokoi,Hiroshi Inaba,Makoto Terauchi,Adam Z. Stieg,Nusrat J. M. Sanghamitra,Tomomi Koshiyama,Katsuhide Yutani,Shuji Kanamaru,Fumio Arisaka,Tatsuo Hikage,Atsuo Suzuki,Takashi Yamane,James K. Gimzewski,Yoshihito Watanabe,Susumu Kitagawa,Takafumi Ueno,Takafumi Ueno +16 more
TL;DR: This work has shown that the β -helical protein motif, which occurs predominantly in native tubular structural proteins such as antifreeze proteins, prions, and viruses, holds promise as a candidate to overcome tube structures with high sta-bility and well-designed nanoscale lengths for properly aligning synthetic molecules on the surfaces of the nanotubes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and characterization of a 1-D porous barium carboxylate coordination polymer, [Ba(HBTB)] (H3BTB = benzene-1,3,5-trisbenzoic acid).
TL;DR: This is the first porous framework synthesized with barium using carboxylate ligands and has robust microporous character and possesses unsaturated metal sites when fully desolvated.
