Theory of the electronic structure of alternating Mg B 2 and graphene layered structures

TL;DR: In this paper, a structure for realizing hole-doped electron-phonon-graphite without appealing to chemical substitutions is proposed, which combines three important factors, namely, hole doping, high density of states at the Fermi level, and in-plane lattice expansion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stable polymers of C74 and C78 fullerenes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on new stable polymerized fullerites consisting of large fullerenes and find that C 74 and C 78 (C 2 v ) 2 polymers possess stable infinite covalent networks in which C 74 polymers form two-dimensional hexagonal lattice and one-dimensional chain, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alternative structure of TiO 2 with higher energy valence band edge

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an alternative structure of anatase that has a higher energy oxygen $p$-like valence band maximum than pristine anatase and thus has a much better alignment with the water splitting levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Jellium-model calculation for dimer decays of potassium clusters.

TL;DR: It is found that the K clusters which have exoergic fission channels have low abundances in the experimental mass spectra indicating the presence of thermal fissions of K/sub n/.
