Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamics of cell wall components of Magnaporthe grisea during infectious structure development.

TL;DR: A dynamic change of composition of cell wall polysaccharides occurs during plant infection in M. grisea, which spatially and functionally masks β‐1,3‐glucan and chitin in the cell wall of infectious hyphae.
Journal ArticleDOI

γ-Glutamyl Transfer Reactions by Glutaminase from Pseudomonas nitroreducens IFO 12694 and Their Application for the Syntheses of Theanine and γ-Glutamylmethylamide

TL;DR: The glutaminase of Pseudomonas nitroreducens IFO 12694 simultaneously catalyzed a γ-glutamyl transfer reaction and hydrolysis of the donor and the variation of the activities responding to the concentration of glutathione and glycylglycine indicated that the enzyme might be classified in a group of glutaminases that shows hydrolyzing prior to transfer reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

p-Nitrophenyl Glycoside-hydrolyzing Activities in Bifidobacteria and Characterization of β-D-Galactosidase of Bifidobacterium longum 401

TL;DR: The enzyme was distinct from other bacterial β-d-galactosidases in its higher activity toward lactulose than lactose and the insensitivity of its formation to the carbon source in the culture medium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment of hypersaline-containing wastewater with salt-tolerant microorganisms.

TL;DR: Two salt-tolerant bacteria were isolated from soil samples to treat a high-salt-content wastewater from a pickled plum production plant, and the COD removal was increased to about 90% when they were used in a pilot plant.
