Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative mapping and marker-assisted selection in Rosaceae fruit crops
Elisabeth Dirlewanger,Enrique Graziano,Tarek Joobeur,Francesc Garriga-Calderé,Patrick Cosson,Werner Howad,Pere Arús +6 more
TL;DR: By using the data from different linkage maps anchored with the reference Prunus map, it has been possible to establish, in a general map, the position of 28 major genes affecting agronomic characters found in different species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Construction of a saturated linkage map for Prunus using an almond x peach F2 progeny
Tarek Joobeur,M. A. Viruel,M. C. de Vicente,B. Jáuregui,J. Ballester,Maria Teresa Dettori,Ignazio Verde,M. J. Truco,Ramon Messeguer,Ignasi Batlle,R. Quarta,Elisabeth Dirlewanger,Pere Arús +12 more
TL;DR: A map with 246 markers (11 isozymes and 235 RFLPs) was constructed using an interspecific F2 population between almond and peach, and a large proportion of the mapped loci had skewed segregations; in approximately half of them, the distortion was due to an excess of heterozygotes.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Fusarium wilt resistance locus Fom-2 of melon contains a single resistance gene with complex features.
TL;DR: The map-based cloning and characterization of the resistance gene Fom-2 that confers resistance to race 0 and 1 of this plant pathogen is reported, revealing new insights into R gene evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melon bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library construction using improved methods and identification of clones linked to the locus conferring resistance to melon Fusarium wilt (Fom-2).
TL;DR: Two bacterial artificial chromosome libraries were constructed for the multidisease-resistant line of melon MR-1, using improved methods and screened with two genetic markers FM and AM that co-segregate with Fom-2, a gene conferring resistance to races 0 and 1 of Fusarium wilt.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a second generation linkage map for almond using RAPD and SSR markers
TL;DR: Fifty-four RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) markers and 6 SSRs (simple sequence repeats) were included in a molecular marker map with 120 RFLPs (restriction fragment length polymorphisms) and 7 isozyme genes previously constructed using the offspring of a cross between the almond cultivars 'Ferragnès' and 'Tuono'.
