Journal ArticleDOI
PVT1 dependence in cancer with MYC copy-number increase
Yuen-Yi Tseng,Branden S. Moriarity,Wuming Gong,Ryutaro Akiyama,Ashutosh Tiwari,Hiroko Kawakami,Peter Ronning,Brian Reuland,Kacey Guenther,Thomas C. Beadnell,Jaclyn Essig,George Maxwell Otto,M. Gerard O'Sullivan,David A. Largaespada,Kathryn L. Schwertfeger,York Marahrens,Yasuhiko Kawakami,Anindya Bagchi +17 more
TL;DR: Bagchi et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the role of a nearby long non-coding RNA gene, PVT1, that tends to be co-amplified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activation of the FGFR-STAT3 pathway in breast cancer cells induces a hyaluronan-rich microenvironment that licenses tumor formation
Laura R. Bohrer,Pavlina Chuntova,Lindsey K. Bade,Thomas C. Beadnell,Ronald P. Leon,Nicholas J. Brady,Yungil Ryu,Jodi E. Goldberg,Stephen C. Schmechel,Stephen C. Schmechel,Joseph S. Koopmeiners,James B. McCarthy,Kathryn L. Schwertfeger +12 more
TL;DR: These studies indicate a novel targetable mechanism through which FGFR activation in breast cancer cells induces a protumorigenic microenvironment and suggest that combinatorial therapies inhibiting both FGFR activity and hyaluronan synthesis is more effective than targeting either pathway alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1 Activation in Mammary Tumor Cells Promotes Macrophage Recruitment in a CX3CL1-Dependent Manner
Johanna R. Reed,Matthew D. Stone,Thomas C. Beadnell,Yungil Ryu,Timothy J. Griffin,Kathryn L. Schwertfeger +5 more
TL;DR: A novel role for CX3CL1 in promoting macrophage recruitment during mammary tumor formation is defined, suggesting that the CX 3CL1/CX3CR1 axis may represent a potential therapeutic approach for targeting breast cancers associated with high levels of tumor-associated macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI
Duration of expression and activity of Sleeping Beauty transposase in mouse liver following hydrodynamic DNA delivery.
TL;DR: It is shown that SB transposons appear to be as stably integrated as their viral counterparts, within the limits of current technology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Roles of mitochondria in the hallmarks of metastasis.
TL;DR: In this article, the role of mitochondria in the development of metastasis is explored, including motility and invasion, microenvironment modulation, plasticity, and colonisation of stromal cells.
