Journal ArticleDOI

Symmetry-dependent field-free switching of perpendicular magnetization.

TL;DR: An out-of-plane SOT in an HM/FM bilayer of L11-ordered CuPt/CoPt and field-free switching of the perpendicular magnetization of the CoPt layer is observed, demonstrating the intrinsic nature of the 3m torque, which strongly depends on the relative orientation of the current flow and the crystal symmetry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spin-Orbit Torque-Induced Domain Nucleation for Neuromorphic Computing

TL;DR: In this article, a simple bilayer spintronic device for hardware implementation of neuromorphic computing is demonstrated, using the L11 -CuPt/CoPt bilayer as a sigmoidal neuron.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field-free magnetization switching induced by the unconventional spin–orbit torque from WTe2

TL;DR: In this paper, the out-of-plane spin polarization in the van der Waals material WTe2 has been confirmed by the shift of the anomalous Hall effect loop.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field-Free Switching of Perpendicular Magnetization Induced by Longitudinal Spin-Orbit-Torque Gradient

TL;DR: In this article , a longitudinal composition gradient was proposed to break the spin-orbit-torque (SOT) symmetry in a heavy-metal bilayer, which is not suitable for practical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current-induced self-switching of perpendicular magnetization in CoPt single layer

TL;DR: In this article , the authors showed that the Co30Pt70 shows the largest out-of-plane effective field efficiency and best switching performance in the absence of external magnetic field.
