Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of non-Hermitian degeneracies in a chaotic exciton-polariton billiard
Tingge Gao,Eliezer Estrecho,Konstantin Y. Bliokh,Timothy Chi Hin Liew,M. D. Fraser,Sebastian Brodbeck,Martin Kamp,Christian Schneider,Sven Höfling,Sven Höfling,Yoshihisa Yamamoto,Franco Nori,Yuri S. Kivshar,Andrew Truscott,Robert Dall,Elena A. Ostrovskaya +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that non-Hermiticity dramatically modifies the structure of modes and spectral degeneracies in exciton-polariton systems, and, therefore, will affect their quantum transport, localization and dynamical properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exciton-polariton topological insulator
Sebastian Klembt,Tristan H. Harder,Oleg A. Egorov,K. Winkler,Rong-Chun Ge,Miguel A. Bandres,Monika Emmerling,Lukas Worschech,Timothy Chi Hin Liew,Mordechai Segev,Christian Schneider,Sven Höfling,Sven Höfling +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an exciton-polariton topological insulator was shown to be possible without a magnetic field in an array of semiconductor microcavities, where an applied magnetic field leads to the unidirectional flow of a polariton wavepacket around the edge of the array.
Journal ArticleDOI
Room-Temperature Polariton Lasing in All-Inorganic Perovskite Nanoplatelets
Rui Su,Carole Diederichs,Carole Diederichs,Jun Wang,Timothy Chi Hin Liew,Jiaxin Zhao,Sheng Liu,Weigao Xu,Zhanghai Chen,Qihua Xiong,Qihua Xiong +10 more
TL;DR: The experimental realization of room-temperature polariton lasing based on an epitaxy-free all-inorganic cesium lead chloride perovskite nanoplatelet microcavity is reported, suggesting considerable promise of lead halideperovskites toward large-area, low-cost, high-performance room- temperature polariton devices and coherent light sources extending from the ultraviolet to near-infrared range.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single photons from coupled quantum modes.
TL;DR: Couple quantum modes can be strongly sensitive at the single quantum level, even if nonlinear interactions are modest, and solid-state implementations based on the tunneling of polaritons between quantum boxes or their parametric modes in a microcavity are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of the optical spin Hall effect
C. Leyder,M. Romanelli,J. Ph. Karr,Elisabeth Giacobino,Timothy Chi Hin Liew,Mikhail M. Glazov,Alexey Kavokin,Guillaume Malpuech,Alberto Bramati +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the optical spin Hall effect was observed in a high-quality GaAs/AlGaAs quantum microcavity, where the spin current was controlled by the linear polarization of the laser pump.
