Journal ArticleDOI
The humanistic and economic burden of chronic wounds: A systematic review.
Maja Olsson,Krister Järbrink,Ushashree Divakar,Ram Bajpai,Zee Upton,Zee Upton,Artur Schmidtchen,Artur Schmidtchen,Josip Car,Josip Car +9 more
TL;DR: A systematic review of chronic wounds revealed that health‐related quality of life was lowest for physical pathologies, and based on average estimates were scores most inferior in the domain physical role for both patients with chronic wounds and for those with wound‐related amputations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oct4 switches partnering from Sox2 to Sox17 to reinterpret the enhancer code and specify endoderm.
Irene Aksoy,Ralf Jauch,Jiaxuan Chen,Mateusz Dyla,Ushashree Divakar,Gireesh K. Bogu,Roy Teo,Calista Keow Leng Ng,Calista Keow Leng Ng,Wishva Herath,Sun Lili,Andrew P. Hutchins,Andrew P. Hutchins,Paul Robson,Paul Robson,Prasanna R. Kolatkar,Prasanna R. Kolatkar,Lawrence W. Stanton,Lawrence W. Stanton,Lawrence W. Stanton +19 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that genomic redistribution of Oct4 by alternative partnering with Sox2 and Sox17 is a fundamental regulatory event of endodermal specification and provides insights in understanding cell fate transcriptional regulation by highlighting the direct link between the DNA sequence of an enhancer and a developmental outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sox transcription factors require selective interactions with Oct4 and specific transactivation functions to mediate reprogramming.
Irene Aksoy,Ralf Jauch,Volker Eras,Wen Bin Alfred Chng,Jiaxuan Chen,Ushashree Divakar,Calista Keow Leng Ng,Prasanna R. Kolatkar,Prasanna R. Kolatkar,Lawrence W. Stanton +9 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that the glutamate (E) to lysine (K) mutation in the HMG domain is necessary but insufficient to swap the function of Sox factors, and the H MG domain alone fused to the VP16 transactivation domain is able to induce reprogramming, albeit at low efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melatonin and health: an umbrella review of health outcomes and biological mechanisms of action.
Pawel Posadzki,Ram Bajpai,Bhone Myint Kyaw,Nicola J. Roberts,Amnon Brzezinski,George I. Christopoulos,Ushashree Divakar,Shweta Bajpai,Michael Soljak,Gerard Dunleavy,Krister Järbrink,Ei Ei Khaing Nang,Chee Kiong Soh,Josip Car,Josip Car +14 more
TL;DR: Melatonin has been shown to be associated with a wide variety of health outcomes in clinically and methodologically heterogeneous populations and many reviews stressed the need for more high-quality randomised clinical trials to reduce the existing uncertainties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Review of the potential health effects of light and environmental exposures in underground workplaces
Ei Ei Khaing Nang,Gulifeiya Abuduxike,Pawel Posadzki,Ushashree Divakar,Nanthini Visvalingam,Nuraini Nazeha,Gerard Dunleavy,George I. Christopoulos,Chee Kiong Soh,Krister Järbrink,Michael Soljak,Josip Car +11 more
TL;DR: The literature on the range of possible environmental exposures, and the possible health effects, to identify future research directions was narratively reviewed to expand knowledge of the health effects of underground environments.
