Journal ArticleDOI
First Penning-trap mass measurement of the exotic halo nucleus 11Li.
M. Smith,M. Smith,Maxime Brodeur,Maxime Brodeur,Thomas Brunner,Thomas Brunner,S. Ettenauer,S. Ettenauer,Alain Lapierre,Ryan Ringle,V. L. Ryjkov,Friedhelm Ames,Pierre Bricault,Gordon W. F. Drake,P. P. J. Delheij,D. Lunney,D. Lunney,F. Sarazin,Jens Dilling,Jens Dilling +19 more
TL;DR: A new mass for 11Li is reported using the trapping experiment TITAN at TRIUMF's ISAC facility, which derives a new two-neutron separation energy of 369.15(65) keV: a factor of 7 more precise than the best previous value.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct mass measurement of the four-neutron halo nuclide 8He.
V. L. Ryjkov,Maxime Brodeur,Maxime Brodeur,Thomas Brunner,Thomas Brunner,M. Smith,M. Smith,Ryan Ringle,Alain Lapierre,Friedhelm Ames,Pierre Bricault,M. Dombsky,P. P. J. Delheij,D. Lunney,D. Lunney,M. R. Pearson,Jens Dilling +16 more
TL;DR: The 8He mass is the first result from the newly-commissioned Penning trap: TITAN (TRIUMF's Ion Trap for Atomic and Nuclear science) at the ISAC (Isotope Separator and Accelerator) radioactive beam facility at TRIUMF.
Journal ArticleDOI
New mass measurement of Li6 and ppb-level systematic studies of the Penning trap mass spectrometer TITAN
Maxime Brodeur,T. Brunner,C. Champagne,S. Ettenauer,M. Smith,Alain Lapierre,Ryan Ringle,V. L. Ryjkov,G. Audi,P. P. J. Delheij,D. Lunney,Jens Dilling +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the frequency ratio of {sup 6}Li to {sup 7}Li was measured using the TITAN Penning trap mass spectrometer, which resolved a 16ppb discrepancy between the atomic mass evaluation 2003 (AME03) and the more recent measurement of 6.015 122 795(16) u by SMILETRAP.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-precision Penning trap mass measurements of 9,10Be and the one-neutron halo nuclide 11Be
Ryan Ringle,Maxime Brodeur,Maxime Brodeur,T. Brunner,T. Brunner,S. Ettenauer,S. Ettenauer,M. Smith,M. Smith,Alain Lapierre,V. L. Ryjkov,P. P. J. Delheij,Gordon W. F. Drake,Jens Lassen,David Lunney,David Lunney,Jens Dilling +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the isotope shift of 11 Be relative to 9 Be has been measured using TITAN at TRIUMF and the resulting 11 Be mass excess ( ME = 20 177.60 ( 58 ) keV ) is in agreement with the current Atomic Mass Evaluation (AME03) [G. Audi, et al., Nucl. Phys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electron capture branching ratio measurements in an ion trap for double beta decay experiments at TITAN
T. Brunner,T. Brunner,M. Brodeur,C. Champagne,D. Frekers,D. Frekers,R. Krücken,Alain Lapierre,P. P. J. Delheij,Ryan Ringle,V. L. Ryjkov,M. B. Smith,Isao Tanihata,Jens Dilling +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new method for measuring the electron capture branching ratio (BR) using the TITAN ion trap at the TRIUMF ISAC (Isotope Separator and ACcelerator) radioactive beam facility.
