TL;DR: In this article, taxonomically classified under the genus Taxus, a number of physiologically active compounds of different classes have been extracted from yew trees, including lignans, flavonoids, steroids and sugar derivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel constituents of Uvaria species
Journal ArticleDOI
Regioselective esterification of diols and triols with lipases in organic solvents
TL;DR: Lipases from porcine pancreas and Candida cylindracea in different organic solvents allow discrimination of the primary and secondary hydroxyl groups, and also towards acylation with 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl butyrate in diols and triols with high regioselectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isethionate in certain red algae
Pia B. Holst,S. E. Nielsen,Uffe Anthoni,Kirpal S. Bisht,Carsten Christophersen,Sanjay Gupta,V. S. Parmar,Per Halfdan Nielsen,Dinabandhu Sahoo,Amarjit Singh +9 more
TL;DR: Investigations of 13 species of red algae showed that only some samples of species of the families Gigartinaceae, Hypnaceae and Solieriaceae (all of order Gigartinales) contained isethionates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Some recent isolation studies from potential insecticidal Piper species
TL;DR: In this paper, a joint research project between the Chemisay Departments of University of Delhi, India, and Odense University, Denmark is described, focusing on isolation, structure elucidation and biological activity of potential insecticides from Piper species.
