TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the prevalence of intimate partner violence in 15 State capital cities and the Federal District of Brazil and found that the overall prevalence of psychological aggression and severe physical abuse within couples was 78.3%, 21.5%, and 12.9%, respectively.

TL;DR: In Brazil, several tobacco control measures have been adopted since 1986, in particular increasing taxation of tobacco products and strong health warnings, which may have contributed to the marked decline in smoking prevalence.
