Journal ArticleDOI

Hydroxyapatite Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles: A Promising Nanomaterial for Magnetic Hyperthermia Cancer Treatment

TL;DR: The in vitro hyperthermia temperature was reached within 3 min, which shows a very high efficiency and kills nearly all of the experimental MG-63 osteosarcoma cells within 30 min exposure and could potentially open new perceptions for biomaterials that are aimed for anti-cancer therapies based on magnetichyperthermia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-EGFR antibody conjugated thiol chitosan-layered gold nanoshells for dual-modal imaging-guided cancer combination therapy.

TL;DR: A new multifunctional nanocarrier based on anti-epidermal growth factor receptor antibody-conjugated and paclitaxel loaded-thiol chitosan-layered gold nanoshells as a theranostic agent for the first time used for fluorescence/photoacoustic dual-modal imaging-guided chemophotothermal synergistic therapy and is considered a new PAI contrast agent for subsequent therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chitosan as a stabilizer and size-control agent for synthesis of porous flower-shaped palladium nanoparticles and their applications on photo-based therapies.

TL;DR: It was found that chitosan not only worked as a stabilizer but also as a size-control agent for the synthesis of these nanoparticles, which showed good biocompatibility and strong near-infrared absorption.
