Runoff, sediment and nutrient exports from a Mediterranean vineyard under integrated production: An experiment at plot scale
Carla Ferreira,Carla Ferreira,Jan Jacob Keizer,L.M.B. Santos,Dalila Serpa,Vera M. F. da Silva,Mário Cerqueira,António J. D. Ferreira,Nelson Abrantes +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of minimum tillage and regulated fertilization practices, driven by integrated production, on runoff and associated sediment and nutrient exports (total phosphorous - TP, total nitrogen - TN and nitrates - NO3) was assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cocktails of pesticide residues in conventional and organic farming systems in Europe - Legacy of the past and turning point for the future.
Violette Geissen,Vera M. F. da Silva,Esperanza Huerta Lwanga,Nicolas Beriot,Klaas Oostindie,Zhaoqi Bin,Erin Pyne,Sjors Busink,Paul Zomer,Hans G.J. Mol,Coen J. Ritsema +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the residues with the highest frequency of detection and the highest content in soil were herbicides: glyphosate and its main metabolite AMPA (P-G, N-P, S-O), and pendimethalin (S-V).
Journal ArticleDOI
Phylogeography and population genetics of the endangered Amazonian manatee, Trichechus inunguis Natterer, 1883 (Mammalia, Sirenia).
Andréa Martins Cantanhede,Vera M. F. da Silva,Izeni Pires Farias,Tomas Hrbek,Tomas Hrbek,Stella Maris Lazzarini,José Antônio Alves-Gomes +6 more
TL;DR: Patterns of mtDNA haplotype diversity in T. inunguis suggest a genetic disequilibrium most likely explained by demographic expansion resulting from secession of hunting and enforcement of conservation and protective measures, and nested clade analysis supports restricted gene flow and/or dispersal with some long‐distance dispersal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vocalizations of Amazon River Dolphins, Inia geoffrensis: Insights into the Evolutionary Origins of Delphinid Whistles
TL;DR: Vocalizations of the Amazon River dolphin (Inia geoffrensis) are characterized, for which whistles have been reported but not well documented.
