Slippery or sticky? Functional diversity in the trapping strategy of Nepenthes carnivorous plants

TL;DR: Investigating whether Nepenthes species exhibit diverse trapping strategies and measuring the amount of slippery wax on the pitcher walls of 23 taxa and the viscoelasticity of their digestive liquid and compared their retention efficiency on ants and flies suggested the possibility of an investment trade-off for the plants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Honey Pollen: Using Melissopalynology to Understand Foraging Preferences of Bees in Tropical South India

TL;DR: The results showed that pollen spectra were equally comparable between Locations and between Months and Years; the importance of this result is that it helped to demonstrate the complexity of ecological/environmental phenomena involved in the process of foraging by bees in a heterogeneous and complex landscape.

Effect of propofol and sevoflurane on coughing in smokers and non-smokers awakening from general anaesthesia at the end of a cervical spine surgery
