Journal ArticleDOI
Oral melphalan and prednisone chemotherapy plus thalidomide compared with melphalan and prednisone alone in elderly patients with multiple myeloma: randomised controlled trial
Antonio Palumbo,Sara Bringhen,Tommaso Caravita,Emanuela Merla,Vincenzo Capparella,Vincenzo Callea,Clotilde Cangialosi,Mariella Grasso,Fausto Rossini,Monica Galli,Lucio Catalano,Elena Zamagni,Maria Teresa Petrucci,Valerio De Stefano,Manuela Ceccarelli,Maria Teresa Ambrosini,Ilaria Avonto,Patrizia Falco,Giovannino Ciccone,Anna Marina Liberati,Pellegrino Musto,Mario Boccadoro +21 more
TL;DR: Oral MPT is an effective first-line treatment for elderly patients with multiple myeloma and anticoagulant prophylaxis reduces frequency of thrombosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
A case of nodular sclerosis Hodgkin's lymphoma repeatedly relapsing in the context of composite plasma cell-hyaline vascular Castleman's disease: successful response to rituximab and radiotherapy.
Lorenzo Falchi,Daniela Capello,Barbara Palumbo,Annamaria Rauco,Rita Emili,Michele Cianciulli,Roberta Pace,Vincenzo Capparella,Fabrizio Liberati,Anna Marina Liberati +9 more
TL;DR: This case is in concordance with previously published data suggesting that rituximab immunotherapy might be a valid option in the treatment of CD and also have a role in the management of relapsing cHL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequential Approach with Bortezomib as Induction Before Autologous Transplantation, Followed by Lenalidomide as Consolidation-Maintenance in Untreated Multiple Myeloma Patients.
Patrizia Falco,Claudia Crippa,Anna Marina Liberati,Francesca Patriarca,Clotilde Cangialosi,Vincenzo Capparella,Agostina Siniscalchi,Manuela Rizzo,Luca De Rosa,Antonietta Falcone,S. Caltagirone,Sara Bringhen,Paolo Corradini,Mario Boccadoro,Antonio Palumbo +14 more
TL;DR: This is the first phase II study in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients to date, where a sequential approach including bortezomib as induction, and lenalidomide as post ASCT consolidation-maintenance was explored and suggested that this is a safe and effective regimen for newly diagnosed MM patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Has the 67Ga-SPET a role in monitoring Hodgkin and primary mediastinal lymphoma in the PET-FDG age?
Isabella Palumbo,Giorgia Desantis,Barbara Palumbo,Lorenzo Falchi,Paola Cerroni,Vincenzo Capparella,Michele Cianciulli,Renato Palumbo,Anna Marina Liberati +8 more
TL;DR: Ga-SPET is still a useful, sensitive and not expensive method to determine the presence of eventual active post-therapy disease in the mediastinum and its predictive value in terms of disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS).
