Journal ArticleDOI

Validation of a new method of detecting peripheral artery disease by determination of ankle-brachial index using an automatic blood pressure device.

TL;DR: The use of a simple, automatic blood pressure device to determine ABI appears feasible, easy, and precise, and would provide a practical tool for physicians not trained in Doppler to detect PAD.
Journal ArticleDOI

The -308 G/A tumor necrosis factor-α gene dimorphism: A risk factor for unstable angina

TL;DR: The crucial role of TNF-α is suggested in the mechanisms responsible for unstable angina in accordance with the concept of vulnerable plaque as well as mechanisms controlling myocardial infarction appear more complex and heterogeneous.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tuning of pulmonary arterial circulation evidenced by MR phase mapping in healthy volunteers

TL;DR: It is verified, in this series, that pressure wave velocity appears to be age-dependent and can be explained using a simple "distributed" theoretical model that takes into account the role of a reflected pressure wave from pulmonary vascular impedance in generating a diastolic flow.
