The Use of a Vanadium Species As a Catalyst in Photoinduced Water Oxidation

TL;DR: The time-resolved formation of the oxidized molecular catalyst 1(+) in bimolecular reactions is evidenced for the first time by transient absorption spectroscopy and opens the way to the use of less expensive vanadium clusters as water oxidation catalysts in artificial photosynthesis schemes.
Journal ArticleDOI

SERS and DFT study of indigo adsorbed on silver nanostructured surface

TL;DR: DFT calculations provide a good description of the observed SERS spectra, in particular, the indigo-Ag16 structure gives a better description with respect to structures where only one or two silver atoms attached to theIndigo molecule are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallographic study and biological evaluation of 1,4-dimethyl-N-alkylcarbazoles.

TL;DR: The data demonstrate that carbazoles derivatives exert inhibitory effects on ovarian cancer cell growth, highlighting a stronger and a dose-dependent anti proliferative activity displayed by 2c carbazole, designating this compound, as a better candidate in the treatment of human ovarian cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel dinuclear schiff base copper complex as an efficient and cost effective catalyst for oxidation of alcohol: Synthesis, crystal structure and theoretical studies

TL;DR: In this paper, an environmentally friendly protocol is described for an economic, practical laboratory-scale oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to aldehydes and ketones, using a bis-chloro-bridged binuclear Cu(II) complex [(HL)Cu(μ 2-Cl)2Cu(HL)]*1.5 CH3OH as catalyst.
