Journal ArticleDOI

Microengineered biosynthesized cellulose as anti-fibrotic in vivo protection for cardiac implantable electronic devices.

TL;DR: The insertion of an anti-adhesive, non-resorbable and well-tolerated BC interface between the implant and the surrounding tissue in the surgical pocket significantly reduced the formation of fibrotic tissue, ensuring an easy access to the device pocket, and thus creating the conditions for simplified CIED revision surgeries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biventricular support using 2 HeartMate 3 pumps

TL;DR: Biventricular support using 2 HeartMate 3 pumps is presented for the first time in a double-bypass operation for mitral valve prolapse preoperatively and postoperatively.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Simulation of transcatheter aortic valve implantation under consideration of leaflet calcification

TL;DR: This work presents a simulation workflow using a fully segmented aortic root anatomy, which was extracted from pre-operative CT-scan data and applies individual material models and parameters to predict the procedure outcome, indicating the high relevance of calcification location and size for intervention planning.
Book ChapterDOI

Interactive Guidance by Image Overlay in Robot Assisted Coronary Artery Bypass

TL;DR: An original visual guidance system in the especially difficult context of robot assisted coronary artery bypass graft by identifying the main arteries in a few clicks is presented.
