Limits on WIMP dark matter using scintillating CaWO4 cryogenic detectors with active background suppression
G. Angloher,C. Bucci,P. Christ,C. Cozzini,F. von Feilitzsch,D. Hauff,S. Henry,Th. Jagemann,J. Jochum,H. Kraus,B. Majorovits,Jelena Ninkovic,F. Petricca,W. Potzel,F. Pröbst,Y. Ramachers,M. Razeti,W. Rau,W. Seidel,M. Stark,Leo Stodolsky,A. J. B. Tolhurst,W. Westphal,H. R. T. Wulandari +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the first significant limits on WIMP dark matter by the phonon-light technique, where combined phonon and light signals from a scintillating cryogenic detector are used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Commissioning run of the CRESST-II dark matter search
G. Angloher,M. Bauer,I. Bavykina,A.C.S.S.M. Bento,A.C.S.S.M. Bento,Andrew Brown,C. Bucci,C. Ciemniak,C. Coppi,G. Deuter,F. von Feilitzsch,D. Hauff,S. Henry,P. Huff,J. Imber,S. Ingleby,C. TL;DR: The CRESST cryogenic direct dark matter search at Gran Sasso, searching for WIMPs via nuclear recoil as discussed by the authors, has been upgraded with a new detector support structure capable of accommodating 33 modules, the associated multichannel readout with 66 SQUID channels, a neutron shield, a calibration source lift and the installation of a muon veto.
Journal ArticleDOI
The CRESST Dark Matter Search
Bela Majorovits,G. Angloher,C. Bucci,P. Christ,C. Cozzini,F. von Feilitzsch,D. Hauff,S. Henry,Th. Jagemann,J. Jochum,H. Kraus,V. B. Mikhailik,Jelena Ninkovic,F. Petricca,W. Potzel,F. Proebst,Y. A. Ramachers,M. Razeti,W. Rau,W. Seidel,M. Stark,Leo Stodolsky,A. J. B. Tolhurst,D. Wahl,W. Westphal,H. R. T. Wulandari +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the first competitive results on WIMP dark matter detection using the phonon-light-detection technique, showing that the observed count rate in the neutron band is compatible with the rate expected from the neutron background.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of the natural α decay of tungsten
C. Cozzini,G. Angloher,C. Bucci,F. von Feilitzsch,D. Hauff,S. Henry,Th. Jagemann,Josef Jochum,H. Kraus,B. Majorovits,V.B. Mikhailik,Jelena Ninkovic,F. Petricca,W. Potzel,F. Pröbst,Y. Ramachers,W. Rau,M. Razeti,W. Seidel,M. Stark,Leo Stodolsky,A. J. B. Tolhurst,W. Westphal,H. R. T. Wulandari +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors have shown that the natural α-decay of the tungsten isotopes has been unambiguously detected for the first time by the simultaneous measurement of phonon and light signals with the CRESST (Cryogenic Rare Event Search with Superconducting Thermometers) cryogenic detectors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Westphal,P. Wikus,J. Wolf,E. Yakushev +67 more
TL;DR: The European Underground Rare Event Calorimeter Array (EURECA) as discussed by the authors is a new project, searching for dark matter, with largely the present groups of the CRESST and EDELWEISS experiments and already a few new groups.
