Journal ArticleDOI

Redox titration of the primary electron acceptor of Photosystem I in spinach chloroplasts

TL;DR: In this article, the midpoint potential of the primary electron acceptor of Photosystem I in spinach chloroplasts was titrated using the photooxidation of P 700 at −196 °C as an index of the amount of primary acceptor present in the oxidized state.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of lipase on spinach and Chlamydomonas chloroplasts

TL;DR: Light-induced fluorescence yield changes and low-temperature changes were measured in spinach and Chlamydomonas reinhardi chloroplasts before and after treatment with pancreatic lipase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conversion of caffeic acid to esculetin during paper chromatography.

TL;DR: The esculetin was not a natural product but was formed from caffeic acid during the paper-chromatographic purification procedures, and this conversion was confirmed by two-dimensional chromatography of authentic caffeic Acid.
Journal ArticleDOI

The back reaction in the primary electron transfer couple of photosystem II of photosynthesis.

TL;DR: A single saturating flash was quite ineffective in reducing C-550, oxidizing cytochrome b559 or increasing the fluorescence yield, presumably because most of the charge separation induced by the flash was dissipated by a direct back reaction in the primary electron transfer couple.
