Focal adhesion disassembly requires clathrin-dependent endocytosis of integrins
Wei-Ting Chao,Jeannette Kunz +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that adhesion turnover is mediated through dynamin‐ and clathrin‐dependent endocytosis of activated β1 integrins, which provides important insight into the mechanisms underlying adhesion disassembly and identifies novel components of the disassembly pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypermethylation of the TGF-β target, ABCA1 is associated with poor prognosis in ovarian cancer patients
Jian Liang Chou,Jian Liang Chou,Rui Lan Huang,Jacqueline Shay,Lin Yu Chen,Sheng-Jie Lin,Pearlly S. Yan,Wei-Ting Chao,Yi Hui Lai,Yen Ling Lai,Tai Kuang Chao,Cheng-I Lee,Chien-Kuo Tai,Shu-Fen Wu,Kenneth P. Nephew,Tim H-M Huang,Hung Cheng Lai,Hung Cheng Lai,Michael W.Y. Chan +18 more
TL;DR: ABCA1 may be a tumor suppressor and is hypermethylated in a subset of ovarian cancer patients andHypermethylation of ABCA1 is associated with poor prognosis in these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single-Cell RNA-seq Reveals a Subpopulation of Prostate Cancer Cells with Enhanced Cell-Cycle-Related Transcription and Attenuated Androgen Response.
Aaron M. Horning,Yao Wang,Che Kuang Lin,Anna D Louie,Rohit R. Jadhav,Chia Nung Hung,Chia Nung Hung,Chiou Miin Wang,Chun-Lin Lin,Nameer B. Kirma,Michael A. Liss,Addanki P. Kumar,Lu-Zhe Sun,Zhijie Liu,Wei-Ting Chao,Qianben Wang,Victor X. Jin,Chun Liang Chen,Tim H M Huang +18 more
TL;DR: The plasticity and heterogeneity of prostate cancer cells with regard to androgen dependence is characterized, defining the character or minor subpopulations of androgen-independent cells that are poised for clonal selection after androgens-deprivation therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Type I Phosphatidylinositol Phosphate Kinase Beta Regulates Focal Adhesion Disassembly by Promoting β1 Integrin Endocytosis
Wei-Ting Chao,Felicity Ashcroft,Alexes C. Daquinag,Alexes C. Daquinag,Tegy J. Vadakkan,Zhubo Wei,Pumin Zhang,Mary E. Dickinson,Jeannette Kunz +8 more
TL;DR: PIPKIβ is identified as a novel regulator of focal adhesion disassembly and it is suggested that PIPKI β spatially regulates integrin endocytosis at adhesion sites to control cell migration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-metastatic activity of biologically synthesized gold nanoparticles on human fibrosarcoma cell line HT-1080
Palaniyandi Karuppaiya,Elumalai Satheeshkumar,Wei-Ting Chao,Lin-Yi Kao,Emily Chin-Fun Chen,Hsin-Sheng Tsay,Hsin-Sheng Tsay +6 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the biosynthesized gold nanoparticles were non-toxic to cell proliferation and, also it can inhibit the chemo-attractant cell migration of human fibrosarcoma cancer cell line HT-1080 by interfering the actin polymerization pathway.
