Geochronology and geochemistry of the Mesozoic volcanic rocks in Western Liaoning: Implications for lithospheric thinning of the North China Craton

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-stage lithospheric thinning model is proposed based on the new data, which could be derived from a newly enriched lithosphere mantle hybridized by partial melts from the foundered lower continental crust.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnesium isotopic systematics of continental basalts from the North China craton: Implications for tracing subducted carbonate in the mantle

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the possibility of tracing recycled carbonate by using Mg isotopes and evaluate the effects of the western Pacific oceanic subduction on the upper mantle evolution of the North China craton.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chondritic magnesium isotopic composition of the terrestrial mantle: A case study of peridotite xenoliths from the North China craton

TL;DR: In this article, a set of well-characterized mantle peridotite xenoliths from Sanyitang and Beiyan, North China craton were studied and the Mg isotope compositions of the coexisting olivine, orthopyroxene and clinopyroxenes were identical within their external precision.
