No Higher Infectivity But Immune Escape of SARS-CoV-2 501Y.V2 Variants
Qianqian Li,Nie Jianhui,Jiajing Wu,Li Zhang,Ruxia Ding,Haixin Wang,Yue Zhang,Tao Li,Shuo Liu,Mengyi Zhang,Chenyan Zhao,Huan Liu,Lingling Nie,Haiyang Qin,Meng Wang,Qiong Lu,Xiaoyu Li,Junkai Liu,Haoyu Liang,Yi Shi,Yuelei Shen,Liangzhi Xie,Linqi Zhang,Xiaowang Qu,Xiaowang Qu,Wenbo Xu,Weijin Huang,Youchun Wang +27 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the enhancement of infectivity in mouse may lead to the spillover of 501Y.V2 to mouse, which may compromise the efficacy of monoclonal antibodies, convalescent sera and vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ten emerging SARS-CoV-2 spike variants exhibit variable infectivity, animal tropism, and antibody neutralization.
Li Zhang,Zhimin Cui,Qianqian Li,Bo Wang,Yuanling Yu,Jiajing Wu,Jianhui Nie,Ruxia Ding,Haixin Wang,Yue Zhang,Shuo Liu,Zhihai Chen,Yaqing He,Xiao-Dong Su,Wenbo Xu,Weijin Huang,Youchun Wang +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the infectivity and antigenicity of ten emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants-B.1.5, B.1,1.7, P.2(Zeta), P.429(Epsilon), B.525, B1.525 and B.526 in Calu-3 cells, and highlighted the importance of E484K mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Antigenicity of Epidemic SARS-CoV-2 Variants in the United Kingdom.
Jiajing Wu,Li Zhang,Yue Zhang,Haixin Wang,Ruxia Ding,Jianhui Nie,Qianqian Li,Shuo Liu,Yongxin Yu,Xiaoming Yang,Kai Duan,Xiaowang Qu,Youchun Wang,Weijin Huang +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the neutralization activity of monoclonal antibodies, convalescent sera and vaccine-elicited sera was evaluated against the top five epidemic SARS-CoV-2 variants in the UK.
Posted ContentDOI
Comparison of 10 emerging SARS-CoV-2 Variants: infectivity, animal tropism, and antibody neutralization
Li Zhang,Zhimin Cui,Qianqian Li,Yuanling Yu,Jiajing Wu,Jianhui Nie,Ruxia Ding,Haixin Wang,Yue Zhang,Shuo Liu,Zhihai Chen,Yaqing He,Wenbo Xu,Weijin Huang,Youchun Wang +14 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the current SARS-CoV-2 variants do not increase infectivity among humans and the resistance to neutralization by convalescent serum or vaccines was mainly caused by the E484K mutation, while the neutralization of E484k-carrying variants was decreased by 1.1–6.2-fold.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel quinolone derivatives targeting human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase suppress Ebola virus infection in vitro
Mingli Gong,Yiqing Yang,Yi Huang,Tianyu Gan,Yue Wu,Hongying Gao,Qianqian Li,Jianhui Nie,Weijin Huang,Youchun Wang,Rong Zhang,Jin Zhong,Fei Deng,Yu Rao,Qiang Ding +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a panel of newly developed compounds based on RYL-634 against EBOV infection was evaluated, and the results showed that these quinolone-derived compounds are promising therapeutic candidates against Ebola virus infection.
