Journal ArticleDOI

Ten emerging SARS-CoV-2 spike variants exhibit variable infectivity, animal tropism, and antibody neutralization.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the infectivity and antigenicity of ten emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants-B.1.5, B.1,1.7, P.2(Zeta), P.429(Epsilon), B.525, B1.525 and B.526 in Calu-3 cells, and highlighted the importance of E484K mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Antigenicity of Epidemic SARS-CoV-2 Variants in the United Kingdom.

TL;DR: In this paper, the neutralization activity of monoclonal antibodies, convalescent sera and vaccine-elicited sera was evaluated against the top five epidemic SARS-CoV-2 variants in the UK.
Posted ContentDOI

Comparison of 10 emerging SARS-CoV-2 Variants: infectivity, animal tropism, and antibody neutralization

TL;DR: The results indicate that the current SARS-CoV-2 variants do not increase infectivity among humans and the resistance to neutralization by convalescent serum or vaccines was mainly caused by the E484K mutation, while the neutralization of E484k-carrying variants was decreased by 1.1–6.2-fold.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel quinolone derivatives targeting human dihydroorotate dehydrogenase suppress Ebola virus infection in vitro

TL;DR: In this paper, a panel of newly developed compounds based on RYL-634 against EBOV infection was evaluated, and the results showed that these quinolone-derived compounds are promising therapeutic candidates against Ebola virus infection.
