Journal ArticleDOI
Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptor β (δ)-dependent Regulation of Ubiquitin C Expression Contributes to Attenuation of Skin Carcinogenesis
Dae Joon Kim,Taro E. Akiyama,F. S. Harman,Amanda M. Burns,Weiwei Shan,Jerrold M. Ward,Mary J. Kennett,Frank J. Gonzalez,Jeffrey M. Peters +8 more
TL;DR: The results strongly suggest that activation of PPARβ-dependent target genes provides a novel strategy to inhibit tumor promotion and carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-β/δ protects against chemically induced liver toxicity in mice
Weiwei Shan,Christopher J. Nicol,Shinji Ito,Moses T. Bility,Mary J. Kennett,Jerrold M. Ward,Frank J. Gonzalez,Jeffrey M. Peters +7 more
TL;DR: Results from these studies show that PPARβ/δ is protective against liver toxicity induced by AOM and CCl4, suggesting that this receptor is hepatoprotective against environmental chemicals that are metabolized in this tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ligand Activation of Peroxisome Proliferator–Activated Receptor β/δ (PPARβ/δ) Attenuates Carbon Tetrachloride Hepatotoxicity by Downregulating Proinflammatory Gene Expression
Weiwei Shan,Prajakta S. Palkar,Iain A. Murray,Emily I. McDevitt,Mary J. Kennett,Boo Hyon Kang,Harriet C. Isom,Gary H. Perdew,Frank J. Gonzalez,Jeffrey M. Peters +9 more
TL;DR: Findings demonstrate that ligand activation of PPARbeta/delta protects against chemically induced hepatotoxicity by downregulating expression of proinflammatory genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Secure Reconfigurable Crypto IC With Countermeasures Against SPA, DPA, and EMA
TL;DR: Experimental SCA attack results show that it resists simple power analysis and differential power analysis without revealing the subkey, and different protections including several kinds of global countermeasures and encryption flow related countermeasures can be stacked, thus the security level can be tuned by trading for some performance or power consumption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analog Circuit Implementation of a Variable Universe Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Controller
TL;DR: The VFLC is a stable controller which has fewer on-line adapting parameters than the conventional AFLCs based on adapting fuzzy rules, thus it is more suitable for hardware implementation.
