Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-resonance features of destructive quantum interference in single-molecule thiophene junctions achieved by electrochemical gating
Jie Bai,Abdalghani Daaoub,Sara Sangtarash,Xiaohui Li,Yongxiang Tang,Qi Zou,Hatef Sadeghi,Shuai Liu,Xiaojuan Huang,Zhibing Tan,Junyang Liu,Yang Yang,Jia Shi,Gábor Mészáros,Wenbo Chen,Colin J. Lambert,Wenjing Hong +16 more
TL;DR: Electrochemical gating of single-molecule junctions shows signatures of anti-resonance typical of destructive quantum interference effects and conductance tuning by two orders of magnitude in thiophene molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning for Visible Fluorescence and Near-Infrared Phosphorescence on a Unimolecular Mechanically Sensitive Platform via Adjustable CH-π Interaction.
TL;DR: A proportional control of the singlet and triplet emissions that cover visible and near-infrared spectral regions, respectively, can be straightforwardly achieved by CH-π interaction-assisted self-assembly at the unimolecular level.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cu2+-Selectivity gated photochromism in Schiff-modified diarylethenes with a star-shaped structure
Shangshang Wang,Xin Li,Wandong Zhao,Xuanying Chen,Junji Zhang,Hans Ågren,Qi Zou,Liangliang Zhu,Wenbo Chen +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a star-shaped Schiff-based diarylethene derivative showing typical photochromic properties in solution has been synthesized, which possesses two response channels (colorimetric and fluorogenic) to Cu2+ ions with photoswitching characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Engineering stable radicals using photochromic triggers.
Xuanying Chen,Xuanying Chen,Wandong Zhao,Gleb V. Baryshnikov,Michael L. Steigerwald,Jian Gu,Yunyun Zhou,Hans Ågren,Qi Zou,Qi Zou,Wenbo Chen,Liangliang Zhu +11 more
TL;DR: A stable dithienylethene derived photochromic radical is demonstrated for detection of peroxides and ozone and provides a superior spin-delocalization effect and a large steric effect, mostly avoiding possible consumptions and making the radical stable for hours even under an oxygen-saturated condition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-twisting for macrochirality from an achiral asterisk molecule with fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission
TL;DR: In this article, a self-assembly strategy from a well-selected asterisk molecule for generating supramolecular chirality with fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission is presented.
