Review of ZnO-based nanomaterials in gas sensors

TL;DR: ZnO-based gas sensors have been widely used due to fast response, low detection limit, high selectivity, reliable performance and low manufacturing cost as discussed by the authors, however, their sensitivity and selectivity are low.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visible-Light-Activated TiO2–NiFe2O4 Heterojunction for Detecting Sub-ppm Trimethylamine

TL;DR: In this paper, a TiO2-NiFe2O4 heterojunction was successfully synthesized for TMA detection using a simple and efficient hydrothermal method using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectrograph.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ethanol Sensing Properties and First Principles Study of Au Supported on Mesoporous ZnO Derived from Metal Organic Framework ZIF-8.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used mesoporous ZnO composites derived from a metal-organic framework ZIF-8 for the detection of ethanol gas, and the results showed that the Au/ZnO-1.0 sample maintains a three-dimensional (3D) dodecahedron structure with a larger specific surface area and has more oxygen vacancies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Light-Excited Ag-Doped TiO2−CoFe2O4 Heterojunction Applied to Toluene Gas Detection

TL;DR: In this paper, a quaternary composite gas-sensing material was prepared using a hydrothermal method to detect toluene, and the recombination of electron-hole pairs was suppressed and the light absorption range was expanded after constructing a heterojunction and doping with Ag.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and density functional study of the light-assisted gas-sensing performance of a TiO2-CoFe2O4 heterojunction.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors used a hydrothermal method to successfully prepare a TiO2-CoFe2O4 heterostructure for detecting toluene gas, which showed that the bandgap of the heterojunction was considerably shorter than those of pure TiO 2 and CoFe 2O4, and the recombination of electronhole pairs was inhibited.
