Journal ArticleDOI

Occurrence, source and ecotoxicological risk assessment of pesticides in surface water of Wujin District (northwest of Taihu Lake), China.

TL;DR: The concentrations of detected organophosphorus pesticides and neonicotinoids in a few non-agricultural planting sources were far greater than those detected in surface water, and hence a few fish ponds, livestock and poultry farms, and sewage treatment plants might be the potential discharge sources of pesticides in the surrounding surface water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibiotic resistance genes in China: occurrence, risk, and correlation among different parameters

TL;DR: More work is needed to establish a quantitative approach of ARG risk assessment, which can provide a theoretical support for the management of antibiotics and the protection of human health and the relationships between ARGs and antibiotics, antibiotic resistance bacteria (ARB), heavy metals, and environmental parameters were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of nanoplastics on the toxic effects, bioaccumulation, biodegradation and enantioselectivity of ibuprofen in freshwater algae Chlorella pyrenoidosa

TL;DR: The results indicated that the inhibitory effect of IBU on C. pyrenoidosa growth was alleviated in the presence of NP, and the influence of coexistent NP should be considered in the environmental risk assessment of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in aquatic environments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emerging Organic Contaminants in Chinese Surface Water: Identification of Priority Pollutants

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-criteria screening approach based on hazard and exposure potentials was developed for prioritization of 405 unregulated organic contaminants (EOCs) already present in Chinese surface water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deriving acute and chronic predicted no effect concentrations of pharmaceuticals and personal care products based on species sensitivity distributions.

TL;DR: This study helps derive water quality criterias of PPCPs in the aquatic environment, which is essential for environmental managment of these emerging contaminants.
