Journal ArticleDOI

A biodegradable rubber by crosslinking poly(hydroxyalkanoate) from Pseudomonas oleovorans

TL;DR: The first microbially produced biodegradable poly(R)-3-hydroxyalkanoate (PHAs) polyester was presented in this paper, where the unsaturated pendent groups were incorporated in the polymer by tailoring the carbon source for biosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-stage continuous process development for the production of medium-chain-length poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates)

TL;DR: The influence of temperature, pH, nutrient limitation, and carbon source on PHA productivity was investigated and results similar to optimum conditions in single-stage chemostat cultivations of P. oleovorans were found.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous production of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) by Pseudomonas oleovorans in a high-cell-density, two-liquid-phase chemostat

TL;DR: P. oleovorans remained stable with respect to PHA formation in these two-liquid phase continuous cultures for at least 1 month: cells that were isolated after 760 h of continuous growth were phenotypically similar to the cells that was used to inoculate the long-term cultivation.
