The High Performance of Crystal Water Containing Manganese Birnessite Cathodes for Magnesium Batteries

TL;DR: The crucial role of the crystal water was revealed by directly visualizing its presence and dynamic rearrangement using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), and the importance of lowering desolvation energy penalty at the cathode-electrolyte interface was elucidated by working with water containing nonaqueous electrolytes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quartz (SiO2): a new energy storage anode material for Li-ion batteries

TL;DR: SiO2 is one of the most abundant materials on Earth. It exhibited a strong potential as a promising anode for Li-ion batteries as discussed by the authors, and it was engineered to react directly by a simple process.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-capacity nanostructured manganese dioxide cathode for rechargeable magnesium ion batteries

TL;DR: In this article, the capacity fading of MnO 2 in different electrolytes is also discussed in terms of the formation of a surface layer at the electrode/electrolyte interface during the charging process.

Negative electrode for lithium metal battery and lithium metal battery comprising the same

TL;DR: A negative electrode for a lithium metal battery including a negative electrode including either a metal or a metal alloy; and a protective layer on at least portion of the lithium metal electrode, wherein the protective layer has a Young's modulus of about 10 6 pascals or greater and includes at least one particle having a particle size of greater than 1 micrometer to about 100 micrometers as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ammonium nitrogen removal characteristics of zeolite media in a Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) for the treatment of textile wastewater

TL;DR: In this article, the ammonium nitrogen removal characteristics of zeolite media in Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) process for treatment of textile wastewater were evaluated and it was shown that natural zeolites has the feasibility to be chosen as a useful media in BAF process for the treatment of textiles.
