Electrocoagulation processes: A general review about role of electro-generated flocs in pollutant removal

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the mechanisms of pollutant removal by electro-generated hydroxide and oxyhydroxide flocs during EC process and show that the most commonly used removal mechanisms of (oxy)hydroxides and (oxynodes) are adsorption and coprecipitation, charge neutralization and surface complexation, and direct/indirect radical oxidation respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined metal/air fuel cell and electrocoagulation process: Energy generation, flocs production and pollutant removal.

TL;DR: Compared with EC process, iron/air FC-EC process shows lower energy consumption and high removal efficiency for treating acid wastewater, and the porous nickel cathode which has a good performance in high polarization zone was selected as the ideal air cathode.

Method for treating wastewater by coupling original battery and electric flocculation

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for treating wastewater by coupling an original battery and electric flocculation is proposed, which comprises the following steps: conductivity of wastewater is adjusted, and pH value is adjusted to 2-10 for carrying out a galvanic reaction; and when the pH value of the wastewater reaches 5-10, power is supplied by a primary battery.

Device and method for repairing polluted soil

TL;DR: In this article, an electric repairing device and an electric flocculation device are used to remove heavy metal from polluted soil, and a method for repairing polluted soil is described. But the method is not suitable for the use of heavy metal removal.
