Defect model and spin-Hamiltonian parameters for the tetragonal Mo5+ and W5+ centers in Cs2ZrCI6 and Cs2HfCI6 crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, two possible defect models are suggested for the tetragonal M(I)C(16)(-) centers in cubic Cs(2)MCl(6) (M = Zr, Hf): in model I, one Cl(-) ion shifts towards the impurity by Delta Z(I), along the C(4) axis due to electrostatic repulsion between the Cl ion and a neighboring charge compensator, monovalent anion, at the interstitial site.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical calculations of the spin-Hamiltonian parameters from a two-mechanism model for Cr5+ ions in MVO3 (M = Li, Na, K, Rb) crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the spin-Hamiltonian parameters (g factors g//, g perpendicular to and hyperfine structure constants A//, A perpendicular to) of approximately-tetragonal Cr5+ centers in MVO3 (M = Li, Na, K, Rb) crystals are calculated from the complete high-order perturbation formulas for d1 ions in tetragonal symmetry with the ground state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical investigations of the EPR parameters of Ti3+ in beryl crystal

TL;DR: In this article, the EPR parameters (g factors g(parallel to), g(perpendicular to), and hyperfine structure constants A (parallel-to), A( perpendicular-to) of Ti3+ ion at the sixfold coordinated Al3+ site with trigonal symmetry in beryl crystal are calculated by the third-order perturbation formulas of 3d(1) ions in a trigonal octahedron.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical calculations of spin-Hamiltonian parameters and defect structures for Cu2+ in trigonally-distorted tetrahedral sites of ZnO and GaN crystals

TL;DR: In this article, the spin Hamiltonian (SH) parameters of d9 ions in trigonally-distorted tetrahedral sites of ZnO and GaN crystals were calculated from a complete diagonalization (of energy matrix) method (CDM) based on a two spin-orbit parameter model for d9 ion in trigonal symmetry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies of the g factors for the tetragonally elongated and compressed CuIIN6 octahedra in image omitted (MI = K, Rb, Cs; MII = Ca, Sr, Ba, Pb) crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the EPR g factors, g// and g perpendicular to, of tetragonally elongated and compressed CuIIN6 octahedral clusters (with the ground states |dx2 - y2 > and |dz2 >, respectively) were calculated using a two-mechanism model.
