Journal ArticleDOI

Differential roles of hydrogen peroxide and hydroxyl radical in cisplatin-induced cell death in renal proximal tubular epithelial cells ☆

TL;DR: Results suggest that hydrogen peroxide is involved in the cisplatin-induced necrosis, whereas hydroxyl radical is responsible for the cisPlatin- induced apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of ERK activation in cisplatin-induced apoptosis in OK renal epithelial cells.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the ERK1/2 activation is required for the cisplatin‐induced apoptosis of renal epithelial cells; and ERK 1/2 mediates the mitochondria‐dependent apoptotic signaling by acting upstream of Bax expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cisplatin-induced apoptosis by translocation of endogenous Bax in mouse collecting duct cells.

TL;DR: Observations suggest that the subcellular redistribution of Bax is a critical event in the apoptosis induced by cisplatin, indicating that reactive oxygen species play a role in mediating necrosis but not apoptosisinduced by cis platin and that the mechanism of cell death induced by transgenic mice is concentration dependent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of c-Jun N-terminal kinase in the PDGF-induced proliferation and migration of human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells.

TL;DR: Results suggest that JNK protein kinase plays a key role in the PDGF‐induced proliferation and migration of mesenchymal stem cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kaempferol induces cell death through ERK and Akt-dependent down-regulation of XIAP and survivin in human glioma cells.

TL;DR: Findings suggest that kaempferol results in human glioma cell death through caspase-dependent mechanisms involving down-regulation of XIAP and survivin regulating by ERK and Akt.
