An investigation on the tribological properties of multilayer graphene and MoS2 nanosheets as additives used in hydraulic applications

TL;DR: In this paper, an Electro-hydrostatic-actuator (EHA) based on a novel linear oscillating motor, which permits nanoparticle additives, such as layered graphene and MoS 2, using in hydraulic oil.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of a static magnetic field on the hydrogen bonding in water using frictional experiments

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of a static magnetic field on hydrogen bonding of liquid water has been examined by frictional experiments and it was found that the friction coefficient was smaller in different intensity magnetized water than in water, and became larger with the increasing water temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ball Milling of Hexagonal Boron Nitride Microflakes in Ammonia Fluoride Solution Gives Fluorinated Nanosheets That Serve as Effective Water-Dispersible Lubricant Additives

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (h-BNNSs) can be used as water dispersible lubricant additive through simple fluoride modification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure effects of sp2-rich carbon films under super-low friction contact

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of film and rehybridized structures under super-low friction contact was discussed, and a smart device was designed to gather the transformed products under different load and sliding cycles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Highly Exfoliated Reduced Graphite Oxide Powders as Efficient Lubricant Oil Additives

TL;DR: In this article, a high-performance additive of poly(α-olefin) lubricant oil (type 6, PAO-6) was proposed for industrial applications by adding 0.5% (by weight, wt%) heRGO-4, the coefficient of friction was decreased by 44% and wear scar depth was reduced by more than 90%.
