Journal ArticleDOI
Repression of TIF1γ by SOX2 promotes TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in non-small-cell lung cancer.
Longqiang Wang,Hong Yang,Zhe Lei,Jing Zhao,Yongjing Chen,Ping Chen,Chang Li,Yuanyuan Zeng,Zeyi Liu,Xia Liu,Hong-Tao Zhang +10 more
TL;DR: The findings reveal a new mechanism by which SOX2-mediated transcription repression of TIF1γ promotes TGF-β-induced EMT in NSCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spermidine endows macrophages anti-inflammatory properties by inducing mitochondrial superoxide-dependent AMPK activation, Hif-1α upregulation and autophagy.
Rui Liu,Xiaolei Li,Hui Ma,Qian Yang,Qianwen Shang,Lin Song,Zhiyuan Zheng,Shengchao Zhang,Yongsha Pan,Peiqing Huang,Jiankai Fang,Yanan Li,Zhanhong Liu,Lijuan Cao,Chao Feng,Zheng Gong,Yongjing Chen,Ying Wang,Gerry Melino,Changshun Shao,Yufang Shi +20 more
TL;DR: Spermidine can elicit an anti-inflammatory program driven by mtROS-dependent AMPK activation, Hif-1α stabilization and autophagy induction in macrophages, and is found to ameliorate Dextran Sulfate Sodium-induced inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
HDAC inhibition potentiates anti-tumor activity of macrophages and enhances anti-PD-L1-mediated tumor suppression
Xiaolei Li,Xiao Su,Rui Liu,Yongsha Pan,Jiankai Fang,Lijuan Cao,Chao Feng,Qianwen Shang,Yongjing Chen,Changshun Shao,Yufang Shi +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated whether pharmacologic modulation of macrophage phenotype by HDAC inhibitors (HDACi) could produce an anti-tumor effect and demonstrated that low-dose HDACi trichostatin-A (TSA) markedly reshaped the tumor immune microenvironment by modulating the suppressive activity of infiltrating macrophages and inhibiting the recruitment of MDSCs in various tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung mesenchymal stromal cells influenced by Th2 cytokines mobilize neutrophils and facilitate metastasis by producing complement C3.
Zhiyuan Zheng,Zhiyuan Zheng,Yanan Li,Shanfen Jia,Mengting Zhu,Lijuan Cao,Min Tao,Jingting Jiang,Shenghua Zhan,Yongjing Chen,Ping-Jin Gao,Weiguo Hu,Ying Wang,Changshun Shao,Yufang Shi,Yufang Shi +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that lung mesenchymal stromal cells (LMSCs) at pre-metastatic stage possess potent metastasis-promoting activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells promote corneal wound healing by accelerating the clearance of neutrophils in cornea
Qianwen Shang,Yunpeng Chu,Yanan Li,Yuyi Han,Daojiang Yu,Rui Liu,Zhiyuan Zheng,Lin Song,Jiankai Fang,Xiaolei Li,Lijuan Cao,Zheng Gong,Liying Zhang,Yongjing Chen,Ying Wang,Changshun Shao,Yufang Shi +16 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that human adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ADSCs) could effectively inhibit neovascularization during ethanol-induced injury in mouse cornea and modulation of neutrophil clearance could be novel strategies for better vision recovery after injury.
