CONSTITUTION:A turbo fan includes an impeller formed of an approximately disc like boss 3 provided with a motor driving shaft fitting hole, an annular hub 4 extended at the outer periphery of the boss 3, blades 5 planted on one face of the boss 3 spirally around the hole, and a shroud 6 opposed to the boss 3 with the blades placed in between. From a center axis to a specified distance R position, the cross section of the blade 5 on the plane vertical to the center axis is placed forward in the rotating direction as it approaches the center part of the impeller and shows spiral shape proceeding to the center axis almost from the outer peripheral part of the impeller, and a part close to the outer periphery of the impeller from the specified distance R position is bent so as to vertically approach the outer peripheral edge of the impeller. Accordingly, the outlet pressure of air flow rises locally so as to obtain the large air quantity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniform speed distribution of discharge air flow of a turbo fan and to improve efficiency so as to be appropriate for improvement of mounting performance to a heat exchanger, in an indoor machine for an air conditioner. SOLUTION: A plurality of small blades 34 are disposed near a boundary between main vanes 31 generating peel flow or backflow phenomenon. The ratio (Kb/Ka) in an arranging position is set within 0.6 to 0.8 with reference to a negative pressure surface in the opposite rotation direction of the main vanes, where Ka is a distance between the main vanes and Kb is a distance between respective negative pressure surfaces of the main vane and the small blade. Vane length is set constant in the shroud inner diameter 3d direction with reference to the outer diameter 3e of a shroud surface 33, and a vane shape such as a flat plate vane, a circular arc vane, a vane-like vane is suitably employed using a predetermined width of a fan outlet. Flow in a part generating a backflow phenomenon of an un-uniform wind velocity distribution of discharge air flow 3a and absolute velocity distribution of fan outlet flow is improved, and uniform wind velocity distribution, comparing with the conventional case of only the main vanes, is provided.

The disk-shaped rotor 3 has a metal frame 6 provided so as to surround the plurality of permanent magnets 17 arranged on the identical circumference. The metal frame 6 is formed of a nonmagnetic, conductive material.
