Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of microRNA sequencing reproducibility and noise reduction using mirVana and TRIzol isolation methods.
TL;DR: This study designed a study to test the reproducibility of miRNAseq technology and the performance of the two popular miRNA isolation methods, mirVana and TRIzol, by sequencing replicated samples using microRNA isolated with each kit and found excellent repeatability of mi RNAseq technology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypertension Is Associated With Preamyloid Oligomers in Human Atrium: A Missing Link in Atrial Pathophysiology?
Tatiana N. Sidorova,Lisa C. Mace,K. Sam Wells,Liudmila V. Yermalitskaya,Pei Fang Su,Yu Shyr,James B. Atkinson,Agnes B. Fogo,Joseph K. Prinsen,John G. Byrne,Michael R. Petracek,James P. Greelish,Steven J. Hoff,Stephen K. Ball,Charles G. Glabe,Nancy J. Brown,Joey V. Barnett,Katherine T. Murray +17 more
TL;DR: PAO burden was independently associated with the presence of hypertension, and PAOs are frequently detected in human atrium, where their presence is associated with clinical hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of CCL2/CCR2 signaling proteins in breast carcinoma cells is associated with invasive progression.
Wei Bin Fang,Diana S. Acevedo,Curtis Smart,Brandon Zinda,Nadia Alissa,Kyle Warren,Garth R. Fraga,Li-Ching Huang,Yu Shyr,Wei Li,Lu Xie,Vincent S. Staggs,Yan Hong,Fariba Behbod,Nikki Cheng +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the clinical and functional relevance of CCL2/CCR2 signaling proteins to DCIS progression was determined through immunostaining analysis of Ductal Carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and IDC tissues.
Book ChapterDOI
Data Safety Monitoring Boards
TL;DR: Data safety monitoring board (DSMB) is a group of independent individuals with relevant expertise that reviews accumulating data on routine basis from one or more ongoing trials that monitors the safety of trial participants as well as the validity and scientific merit of the trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of occult fractures in the skeletally immature patient: cost analysis of implementing a limited trauma magnetic resonance imaging protocol.
J. Herman Kan,Cristina Estrada,Uzma Hasan,Andrea C. Bracikowski,Yu Shyr,Bashar Shakhtour,Marta Hernanz-Schulman +6 more
TL;DR: Instuting a protocol that includes limited trauma MRI lowers the total cost of care without increasing direct cost, and appropriate care may be instituted at the outset.
