Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence, diagnosis and outcomes of treatment for primary aldosteronism.
TL;DR: The prevalence, outcomes and current and future clinical approaches for the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Classification of microadenomas in patients with primary aldosteronism by steroid profiling
Yuhong Yang,Jacopo Burrello,Alessio Burrello,Graeme Eisenhofer,Mirko Peitzsch,Martina Tetti,Thomas Knösel,Felix Beuschlein,Jacques W.M. Lenders,Paolo Mulatero,Martin Reincke,Tracy Ann Williams,Tracy Ann Williams +12 more
TL;DR: Steroid profiling used for random forest modelling of micro-APA, macro- APA and BAH and improved using novel diagnostic algorithm, which has potential use to select patients with micro-APS for mandatory AVS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary Aldosteronism: KCNJ5 Mutations and Adrenocortical Cell Growth.
Yuhong Yang,Celso E. Gomez-Sanchez,Diana Jaquin,Elke Tatjana Aristizabal Prada,Lucie S. Meyer,Thomas Knösel,Holger Schneider,Felix Beuschlein,Felix Beuschlein,Martin Reincke,Tracy Ann Williams,Tracy Ann Williams +11 more
TL;DR: Findings support the concept that cell growth effects of KCNJ5 mutations are determined by the expression level of the mutated channel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diverse Responses of Autoantibodies to the Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor in Primary Aldosteronism.
Tracy Ann Williams,Tracy Ann Williams,Diana Jaquin,Jacopo Burrello,Aurélie Philippe,Yuhong Yang,Petra Rank,Nina Nirschl,Lisa Sturm,Christoph Hübener,Duska Dragun,Martin Bidlingmaier,Felix Beuschlein,Felix Beuschlein,Martin Reincke +14 more
TL;DR: In patients with primary aldosteronism, higher AT1R-Ab activity was associated with an increased likelihood of a diagnosis of BAH compared with APA and with the presence of adrenal hyperplasia detected by computed tomography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment of Unilateral PA by Adrenalectomy: Potential Reasons for Incomplete Biochemical Cure
TL;DR: In only a small proportion of patients, adrenalectomy fails to resolve hyperaldosteronism and inappropriate aldosterone production persists after surgery, resulting in normalisation of blood pressure or significant clinical improvements in the majority.
