Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency modulation response of a liquid-crystal electro-optic device doped with nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, a twisted nematic liquid-crystal device (LCD) was fabricated by doping with Pd nanoparticles covered with another kind of liquidcrystal molecules, which exhibited a frequency modulation response to an applied alternative voltage wave form.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facile fabrication of Ag-Pd bimetallic nanoparticles in ultrathin TiO(2)-gel films: nanoparticle morphology and catalytic activity.

TL;DR: The formation process of the bimetallic nanoparticle and their general morphological feature are discussed, and the catalytic activity of the Pd-on-Ag nanoparticle is 367 times as large as that of commercial Pd black and 1.6 times as big as those of Pd monometallic nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colloidal silver catalysts for oxidation of ethylene

TL;DR: In this article, a colloidal silver catalysts protected by poly(N -vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP) were prepared by an ethanol reduction method of silver perchlorate in the presence of PVP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidation of ethylene catalyzed by colloidal dispersions of poly(sodium acrylate)-protected silver nanoclusters

TL;DR: In this paper, a poly(sodium acrylate) (PAA)-protected Ag nanoclusters were prepared by UV irradiation of an alcohol-water solution of silver perchlorate in the presence of PAA.
