Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative contributions of the major sources of heavy metals in soils to ecosystem and human health risks: A case study of Yulin, China

TL;DR: An analysis of the Geoaccumulation Index (Igeo), Contamination Index (Pi), RI, CR and HI of heavy metals identified universal ecosystem risks and both carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic health risks in most sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of EPS concentration on membrane fouling control: Comparison analysis of hybrid membrane bioreactor and conventional membrane bioreactor

TL;DR: HMBR operation could control the LB-EPS concentration, and further controled the membrane fouling effectively, and found the physical properties of the activated sludge such as supernatant turbidity, sludge volume index (SVI) and particle structure were found to be strongly influenced by LB- EPS concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment effects and genotoxicity relevance of the toxic organic pollutants in semi-coking wastewater by combined treatment process.

TL;DR: It could be concluded that the adsorption treatment was required for the safety of effluent, and the physicochemical-biochemical combined process in this study was suitable for high concentration semi-coking wastewater treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of aerobic granular sludge reformulation after granular sludge broken: effect of poly aluminum chloride (PAC).

TL;DR: It was found that the effect of charge neutralization and bridging induced by PAC treatment improved the surface properties of sludge, the re-formed granules had a larger size, more compact structure and that the removal performance of pollutants after chemical coagulation had improved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Poly aluminum chloride (PAC) enhanced formation of aerobic granules: Coupling process between physicochemical–biochemical effects

TL;DR: In this article, long-term and short-term PAC feeding strategies were applied in parallel to enhance the sludge granulation and with the aim to figure out the temporal effect of PAC during the whole process.
