Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrogen-promoted self-assembly of N-doped carbon nanotubes and their intrinsic catalysis for oxygen reduction in fuel cells.

TL;DR: The results show that the NCNTs intrinsically display excellent catalytic activity for oxygen reduction in fuel cells, comparable to traditional platinum-based catalysts, and exhibit outstanding stability, selectivity, and resistance to CO poisoning, much superior to the platinum- based catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrogen-Doped Hollow Carbon Nanoparticles with Excellent Oxygen Reduction Performances and Their Electrocatalytic Kinetics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrated that nitrogen-doped hollow carbon nanoparticles (N-HCNPs) exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline fuel cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective oxidation of sacrificial ethanol over TiO2-based photocatalysts during water splitting

TL;DR: The modulation of TiO2 structure can effectively alter the oxidation kinetics and pathway of sacrificial ethanol during the water splitting reaction and dramatically adjust the selectivity of the valuable coupling product 2,3-butanediol from 0.0% to 96.6%, showing the possibility of photohydrogen production in green and economical indexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synergetic effect of Ni(OH)2 cocatalyst and CNT for high hydrogen generation on CdS quantum dot sensitized TiO2 photocatalyst

TL;DR: In this article, a scheme of charge transfer over the hybrid photocatalyst is proposed indicating the synergetic effect of Ni(OH)2 and CNT on promoting electron transport at the heterojunction surface between TiO2 and cdS.
Journal ArticleDOI

The inherent kinetic electrochemical reduction of oxygen into H2O on FeN4-carbon: A density functional theory study

TL;DR: In this paper, a density functional theory calculation of the ORR kinetics on FeN 4 -graphene based on a four-electron process is presented. And the authors show that metal-coordinated nitrogen-doped carbons are highly active in promoting electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).
